Today I want to tell you about this amazing homeschooling resource. I must let you know that I did receive this book for free because I said that I would review it on Amazon for the author. She actually sent me several books because my email got lost in transit.
First, let me tell you a bit about Mrs. Sarah Brown. She is a stay at home Mom of 10, yes you read that right, 10. She is also a missionary to the Ukraine. She is such a lovely person and much of the profit from the sales of her books go to fund an orphanage. So not only are these books a great source for us here in the US they are helping people that don't have loving parents like you over seas.
On to my opinion of the book. Well, I suppose this would be my daughters opinion of the book. She loves it. She begs to do school almost daily. She loves that she can color in it. I love that it encourages learning math through artistic thinking. I'll post more pictures below and you will get to see some of her artwork. On the first lesson, which is on the number 1, there is a pretty number 1 to color and on the adjacent page the assignment is to draw 1 of your favorite things. Reggie of course drew a happy face. There are also pages where the children can trace the number symbol and the spelled out word for the number. Then, there are pages where you color the number of how many birds are on the page. Lots of neat ways to teach counting and addition.
My overall rating of this book is a 5 out of 5. You can purchase this book and many more on amazon.com. Also, Sarah has a curriculum for dyslexic children called dyslexia games and from one of my Mommy friends that has dyslexic children she says that it's amazing and has made a huge difference in her sons' lives.
Go buy Sarah's books and help out a great person, a great cause and of course your number 1 ministry, your children.
Blessings,
Amanda
