The Testing is intense to say the least. I read the first book in the series in a day and a half. For me that is really quick. I am a slow reader. So, for me to finish a 21 or so chapter book that quickly means I was sucked into it. I love reading during the winter months when there isn't much else to do. I love to sit down with a cup of tea and lose myself in a world that is not my own. Maybe one day I'll trying writing something myself but for now I'm just going to enjoy other people's work. Anither thing that is making me want to read a lot right now is I am 8 and a half months pregnant with our second child. So, I am just supposed to be taking it easy for now.
Ok, what am I doing? Going on tangents about my life. Sorry, I digress.
The Testing is the first in a three book series about a girl named Malencia Vale and her becoming an adult in her society. She is chosen to be one of 4 students from her colony to go on after graduation from school to be tested to see if they have what it takes to attend university. Seems pretty harmless right? Well it's not. This is dystopian fiction afterall. I am not going to include any more spoilers other than there is a love interest in "Cia's" life like in all young adult fiction.
I highly recommend you to join Cia in her adventure through The Testing and think about what you would do if you were in her shoes.
Overall, this is a great read and well written.
If you chose to read the series along with me leave a comment below on what you thought of the book.
